Platform Updates

Order Execution Speed: What Changed Under the Hood

Our latest infrastructure upgrade meaningfully cuts average execution latency across the platform. This is a technical look at what changed and why it matters beyond the headline number.

What We Changed

  • Migrated order-matching infrastructure closer to primary liquidity provider endpoints, reducing network round-trip time
  • Optimized internal order-routing logic to cut processing overhead between order submission and transmission
  • Upgraded backend hardware supporting the matching engine during peak-volume windows

Why Execution Speed Actually Matters

Lower latency reduces the gap between the price you see and the price your order actually executes at — particularly relevant during fast-moving conditions like news releases, where that gap tends to widen most. It doesn't eliminate slippage entirely (no infrastructure change can, since slippage also reflects genuine market liquidity conditions at the moment of execution) but it reduces the portion of that gap attributable to our own systems.

Illustrative Latency Improvement
Previous AverageHigher round-trip latency
Current AverageMeaningfully reduced
Peak-Volume WindowsLargest relative improvement

This upgrade applies automatically across all account types with no action required. If you trade a latency-sensitive strategy, you should notice the difference most clearly during high-volatility windows, where the previous infrastructure showed the largest relative slowdown.
